IADLEST National Certification Program2019-11-18T14:04:41+00:00

Effective September 1, 2019, our 3 day and 7 day residential training programs have been awarded National Certification through the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training. IADLEST is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming policing by promoting excellence in training and professional standards. Membership is comprised of key leaders in law enforcement training, including the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Directors of every state in the U.S., as well as state and local training academy directors. With these two influential groups, IADLEST directly impacts 664 basic law enforcement training academies and approximately 900,000 police and correctional officers in the United States. This rigorous certification process ensures our training program and methodologies exceed the demanding standards required by Federal, state and local law enforcement entities. Our 3 day programs allow successful candidates to claim 24 hours in support of their annual in-service and advancement requirements. Our 7 Day programs allow successful candidates to claim 50 hours in support of their annual in-service and advancement requirements. Public agencies and private firms enrolling their teams in our training programs can be assured their men and women are receiving the best possible training available.

We are the only Nationally Certified Program for Dignitary and Executive Protection training program offered through this authoritative body recognized by all 50 states. Our graduates are enrolled in the IADLEST National Online Training Database where their successful completion is recorded and available regardless of their originating agency or firm. This means the certification travels with the individual and is easily verified.

I took an R.L. Oatman training program in the past. Can I get the certification?2019-10-17T11:40:25+00:00

Unfortunately, we cannot award certification for past graduates of our courses. Generally, the training experience is the same, however students in our certified courses are exposed to new materials and are required to complete a new exam. IADLEST does not allow us to retroactively award a certification.

All successful graduates of our certified training programs are registered in the IADLEST Online Training Record database. This is an authoritative listing of all NCP training for all students, regardless of whether you are actively affiliated with a law enforcement agency. The database maintains an independent record of your certified training and will be available throughout your career as a reference regardless of who sponsored your training.

Is National Certification only available to law enforcement officers?2019-10-19T13:22:02+00:00

IADLEST National Certification is applicable to all successful graduates of our NCP training. Law enforcement officers gain the added benefit of receiving hours towards their annual training requirements. Our 3 Day Fundamentals training awards 24 hours and our 7 Day Advanced training awards 50 hours.

Why is National Certification important?2019-10-19T13:24:30+00:00

IADLEST National Certification is a third party accreditation process that involves an external team of experts who review our training to ensure we are teaching and training to meet the objectives of our courses. Training that is not certified is solely based on the judgement of the training provider and may vary considerably in consistency and quality.
